Adopt-A-Vet

Serving Armed Forces active duty members and their families by:

• Communicating to them with letters, e-mail and inspirational materials
• Serving their left-behind families
• Maintenance of FBC’ web site “Operation Prayer Shield”

Command Worship

Supply pastor and worship teams to local National Guard and other Armed Forces units who do not have chaplains during monthly weekend training. 

FBCFL Service

VIC members, in addition to their regular service, are to be available to support FBCFL for such special assignments as:

• Pageant stage door control;
• Feast of Plenty crowd control;
• Children's entrance support.

Fellowship

Periodic gatherings to bond, build, inspire and challenge FBCFL-VIC members by:

• Movies. videos and food;
• Inspirational speakers;
• Family picnics, Fish Fries and/or Pancake Breakfasts.

Honor-A-Vet

Honor Armed Forces active duty personnel and veterans on three national holidays by:

The Four Chaplains - With the American Legion, we present this commemoration annually at First Baptist Church of Fort Lauderdale - home of the fabulous Fort Lauderdale Christmas Pageant..  Don't miss this stirring and confirming performance honoring the four chaplains who, after medal-of-honor winning bravery, went down on the USS Dorchester during WWII. The performance involves music from the wonderful music ministry at First Baptist Church of Fort Lauderdale, over 40 color guards, a 21 gun salute, taps, a moving story, 6 actors, and more.

Memorial Day - promotion for and support of FBC’s current Sunday service and participation in Fort Lauderdale’s program;

Faith, Freedom & Fireworks - July 4th - IWe support First Baptist Church of Fort Lauderdale in honoring our Veterans at our annual 4th of July service through informing the veteran community and providing a welcoming facility at the service.

Veterans Day – development of and support for an FBC Sunday service.

Mission Mandate

Train, equip and deploy evangelistic/construction/support teams on the hardest missions to the harshest places. These missions may be carried out with either FBCFL or external mission ministries.

Operation Prayer Shield

The Word tells us to pray as often as possible for others. Prayer is our preparation, our request for orders. (Ephesians 6:18), (Col. 4:2), (James 5:16). Please pray for those in the list . If you would like to add a veteran or his family to the shield, please click here to E-mail us and let us know his or her name and a short prayer request. We'll post it as soon as possible.

Pageant Power

Armed Forces active duty members and their immediate family, at no cost to them, are invited to and honored at the annual Fort Lauderdale Christmas Pageant.
