Louis Lancon, wife
Patty, and family |
Patty wrote
" Louis left to head back to Iraq on Wednesday before
Memorial Day. That day two soldiers in Iraq were killed.
One of them was a good friend and fellow company
commander. At the same time Louis's company moved into
Ramadi, Iraq. Needless to say the entire week and
weekend were just sad, hectic, and overwhelmiing. We had
meetings, memorials and of course a friend and her baby
son to take care of.
Then over
this weekend Louis lost a soldier in his company; and
three were injured. One was sent back here to Landstuhl;
and will be flown out to Walter Reed tomorrow. So,
again, it has been a somewhat overwhelming week.
I went to
see the soldier yesterday; and watched them pin on his
purple heart. The emotions that I felt would be hard to
describe. I saw several other soldiers that were in icu
and they are just remarkable guys!! They wanted to come
see our soldier and make sure he was doing okay, they
seem to be doing fine, but they have this look in their
eyes that is hard to explain.
I would
like to ask for prayers for Louis, his unit, the
soldiers, and our community. I spoke with Louis on the
phone; and he was tired, but sounded strong. He said
this fight was different then before; they are doing
some very hard work. I am reading psalm 37 a lot; and
trying not to be scared, but some times it can get
overwhelming." |

Gary & Cindy Hogan |
Gary is
serving in Iraq while his young wife is fighting cancer
here. It has been slightly edited to fit the format of
this web site. This is his request:
"Tough
times don't last... Tough people do !!! My name is Gary
Hogan. Some of you receiving this know me, some do not.
My wife, Cindy, is 32 years old and has just been
diagnosed 3 days ago with stage 4 cervical cancer and
her chances for survival are very slim. She was pregnant
with our second child and had miscarried! recently at 3
months, and now we know why. The more people that Pray
for her to be healed, the better. Please pray and
ask everyone you know to pray! for the HEALING of Cindy
and the removal of all cancer in her body, so she may
enjoy all that life has to offer, and to continue to be
the wonderful mother to our 5 year old son, Michael. The
power of Prayer is unsurpassed. I want the whole world
to have her in their prayers the next few weeks. God
will hear our cry. Please do not be offended by my plea.
This is only a request for your help. Thank you from the
bottom of my heart for reading this and helping with our
request for healing! No words can express the power we
have when we each do a little to come together.
Regards, Cindy's in-love husband - Gary. Thank you, and
please send it to the far reaches of our world. Until
People know that you care about them personally, they
will never be very interested in your faith." |

John S.
has been moved to a VA sponsored rehab center in
Newington called Haven Health Center, 240 Church
Street,06111. He is doing a lot better now. He is
speaking very well and walking every day. He should be
there for the rest of the year and then hopefully move
to a rest-home or halfway-house type of place. He is not
very open to spiritual things but has spoken with a
Chaplain. (don't know the results of visit with
Chaplain} Thanks for all of your prayers. |

Hugh R. |
He has
been trying desperately to get into the VA Hospital, but
cannot seem to get any leeway. He has emphysema and is
very ill. Also, he has been not open to family
witnessing to him. Maybe someone, from the outside, that
he can relate with, could make a difference |
